Chamber Choir’s birthday is on the 11th of December 1966, when the choir stepped in front of an audience for the first time. Traditionally the celebrations are always on the 11th of December at Glehni castle. The evening starts at 19.00 with a concert and continues with a party together with the alumni.
Right after the new singer auditions are over and they have joined us, the choir major will teach them everything they need to know about the choir’s life and history.
When the new singers have already been with us a couple of weeks, we have a party out of the city. It is a good chance to get to know each other. The new singers have to prepare a performance. But the old singers favorite part of the evening is when comes the round of questions for the freshman. Old singers usually don’t hold back on the questions…
Winter- and summerdays
With all of the rehearsals and hard work you have to also rest and have fun. Therefore we have one weekend in winter and summer when we just go and spend some free time together. We go sledging, barbeque, swim, go to the sauna, sing etc.
The Party of Badges
Becoming a member of Chamber Choir does not happen over night. You will be named a member after you have been participated in 40 choir events, including rehearsals. For this ceremony the choir has a party in the spring, where the singers have to make the final efforts before being announced as members of the choir and reciving the choir badge.
All the important decisions are made in the general meetings. There the new president is chosen, new board is confirmed, etc. All the singers can participate the meetings, but only the members can vote.
